What a wonderful journey this has been! The organizers are grateful to everyone who has participated over the last decade. It has been a great success but we are ready to explore new opportunities and adventures. This final year will be a celebration that reflects the joyful experiences of the last 10 years.

Jeremy Donovan is a leading indigenous didgeridoo player and has so far done over 2,500 shows for the public. Jeremy is a descendant of both the Gumbaiingirr and KuKu-Yalanji tribes and he has been playing didgeridoo in both traditional and Contemporary shows, and regarded by his peers as one of the best story tellers they know. "I teach people through my music, dance, stories and art. There is nothing in this world that gives me greater pleasure as sharing my peoples history with people who come from lands far and wide."
Stephen Kent with BARAKA MOON came about as a result of a February 2, 2008 concert with poet Coleman Barks in celebration of Rumi's 800th birthday, a benefit for Pacifica radio station KPFA in Berkeley, California. The musicians were so brilliant, the music so extraordinary, it simply had to commence a newly configured journey of its own. Hence, BARAKA MOON was born! Geoffrey Gordon - Drums, Percussion, Sukhawat Ali Khan - Vocals, Harmonium, Stephen Kent - Didge, Percussion. "Baraka" is the Sufi word for "blessing"; this is music to bring peace, love, harmony and beauty to every soul who gives a listen! BARAKA MOON bears the gift to transcend boundaries and unite us in our common humanity; the power to transform and elevate the spirit of all peoples, all nations, all worlds within worlds.
RUINS OF OOAH Tyler Spencer, Adam Bushey, Justus Williams. We're a trio made up of Didjeridu, Harmonica, and Drums. The instrumentation is simple, but eclectic. Our goal is to embrace these qualities and use them to explore new musical possibilities while pushing the limits of our sound. We are all in love with music and the deeper connection to life that it's given us. It's our hope to give a little of that back in the music that we play.
Didgeridoo soloist Ondrej Smeykal. A one-man Didgeridoo orchestra is perhaps the best way of describing the extraordinary music of phenomenal Didgeridoo player Ondrej Smeykal. His highly original style of play is the result of a life completely devoted to his instrument. For well over a decade and with ever increasing intensity, Ondrej has been developing and redefining his own unique approach to the Didgeridoo. His predominant use of unusually long Didges and “extensions” of up to 4 metres in length, enable him to play incredibly deep tones and to produce a much wider range of sounds and overtones than are possible on regular didgeridoos. Each composition, or song, as he refers to it, is very different in style, ranging from break-beat and organic Didgeridoo techno, to trance, ambient and anywhere in between.

Samadhi is a collective of Tribal-fusion musicians and dancers based in Phoenix, Arizona, who blend tribal fusion belly dance and fire arts with the sounds of live Didgeridoo, Tabla, Bass Guitar, Flute, and percussion. Samadhi is a Sanskrit word that describes a non-dualistic state of consciousness in which the object, subject and experience are not separate from one another. The dancers and musicians play off of one another, creating a tapestry of sounds and movements inspired by the present moment.

This is a musical event that is open to everyone at the festival! Come as a participant or come to listen! Musical intent and awareness will intertwine to become an awesome jam session! All musicians, not just didge players, are welcome! Please e-mail Margot Monti if you would like to participate! Time TBA

Dubravko Lapaine will be unable to join us this year. He was denied his traveling visa. He really wanted to be here and apologizes that he will not be joining us this year. He wishes us good luck and many many happy experiences from the last edition of JT fest.
